About my family and our Abode

In 1993, I started thinking about getting married. Gave an matrimonial advertisment in the Times of india, Mumbai edition. Had some responses, but nothing worked out. And a second advert again by mid 1994. Went through a lot of visits to see prospective brides and finally shortlisted Rosy. We got engaged on 11th Sept. 1994 and married on 27th Nov. 1994 at the Catholic Church in Dombivli (near Mumbai).  I had rented a One room kitchen flat in Kannamwar Nagar at Vikhroli (east) and we stayed there till early 1997.

On 16th September 1995, we were blessed with our daughter Michelle.

And then our son Ken was born on 28th Jan. 1997.

In mid 1997,  we shifted to Varthak Nagar, Thane to a bigger house in a good society. Then all of a sudden, in Feb 1998, got selected for a job abroad. So Rosy and kids shifted to her parents house and I went to Dubai (was there for 4 days) and then was posted in Al Khuwair, Oman and later on at site in Saihrawl, Oman till Dec. 1998, when I resigned and came back.

In Sept. 1998, Rosy and kids had shifted to a nearby flat (Sonya building) in Dombivili. Then I was in Mumbai, job hunting and giving Engg. and Maths tuitions  till  end 1999. By Nov. 1999 was offered a job in Qatar and reached Doha in Dec. 1999.

In Nov. 2000, Rosy and kids joined me in Doha, Qatar.  In July 2002, we took an HDFC loan and purchased our 2 bedroom flat at Kharghar, Navi Mumbai. We continued in Qatar till Feb. 2003. I got an offer from Petrofac International, Sharjah  for their Project in Georgia (CIS).

We left Qatar, and Rosy and kids settled down in Kharghar and I went to Sharjah and then to Georgia (CIS) by end Feb. 2003.

Then I was transferred back to Sharjah (UAE) in March 2005, and could have brought Rosy and kids there. But they were already settled in Kharghar, and I did not want to disturb that. So I kept on visiting them every 2 to 3 months and I was free to move around between Projects. I had been to Assaluyah (Iran), Khartoum (Sudan). And finally in Feb 2007, got transferred to Kuwait with a leave cycle of Six Weeks ON / Two Weeks OFF. Left Kuwait in July 2008 and shifted to Tripoli, Libya on a new job with a leave cycle of Seven Weeks ON / Three Weeks OFF

Resigned and got out of Tripoli in the 2nd week of July 2010 and reached Lagos, Nigeria by end July 2010 on my present job with a leave cycle of Eight Weeks ON / Two Weeks OFF
